Mark P. Melhus – Principal

Mr. Melhus has thirty-five years experience in multi-family and commercial property management, as well as financial experience.  Mr. Melhus established his own management company in 1978 and operated the business until 1984, when the business was purchased by the wholly-owned subsidiary service corporation of a federally chartered savings and loan association.  The savings and loan hired Mr. Melhus, where he served as head of the property management division and as a commercial loan officer. 

In anticipation of the conversion of the savings and loan to a stock company, the property management division was eliminated in January of 1990.  In February of 1990, he re-established his company and continues to expand its services today.  Mr. Melhus obtained his Minnesota Real Estate Agent's License in 1973 and his Broker's License in 1980.


Ryan D. Boman – Commercial Leasing/Property Manager

Mr. Boman joined Melhus Management in 2003 shortly after earning his B.B.A. from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.  Through his asset and property management oversight he prepares budgets, deploys capitol improvement programs, assists clients with financing, and works with maintenance and marketing staff to keep these assets performing.

Mr. Boman is also responsible for commercial leasing and has been successful in leasing both retail and office space in the Greater Duluth Area.  He has experience working with small local business people or larger multi-national corporations.  He also obtained his CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation in 2007.  Through 4 weeks of courses, passing a comprehensive exam and putting together an expansive portfolio of leasing experience he joined a small group of leading national commercial real estate executives.

Rounding out his education, Mr. Boman also obtained his M.B.A from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 2005.  In addition, he was also a 4-time letter winner and captain of the UMD Men's Basketball team.  He has also held a Minnesota Real Estate Agent's License since 2005.

 

Harriet Ann Johnson - Accountant

Ms. Johnson has over thirty years of experience in multi-family property management; which includes financial management experience with market rate buildings, as well as Federal Housing Programs.  She joined Melhus Management Company in 1995. 

Ms. Johnson is experienced in computerized property management accounting systems and has primary responsibility for maintaining the integrated accounting system/property management data base program the company currently utilizes.  She has a BA Degree from the College of Saint Benedict.  She earned the NCHM's Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) designation in 1990.  Ms. Johnson has been licensed as a Minnesota Real Estate Agent since 1988, and received her Broker's License in 1990.


Margaret K. Lemenager – Property Manager/Accountant

Ms. Lemenager joined Melhus Management Company in February 2004.  She is responsible for accounts payable, selective account's receivable and various accounting processes and administration for clients and the company. 
Ms. Lemenager has been licensed as a Minnesota Real Estate Agent since 2008.


Jason W. Welles – Accounts Payable

Mr. Welles joined Melhus Management Company in July of 1998.  He is responsible for selective accounts receivable and marketing, payroll and maintenance supervision, which includes maintaining the payroll invoicing system the company utilizes.  Mr. Welles has a BA Degree from the University of North Dakota.  He has held a Minnesota Real Estate Agent's License since 2002.
